Ah, STDs at Hogwarts. Doesn't this happen at least once a year?

On a hopefully unrelated note, it's my baby brother's birthday today. He probably doesn't want me mentioning that but not only is he required to read this, but I'm an awful sister that hardly cares. (If it helps at all, I waffled about sharing embarrassing childhood pictures, of which I have many. Consider the restraint I'm exercising my birthday present to you.)

So, happy birthday, Henry.

[Warded to Friends of the DMLE]

Good evening -- forgive me if this is quick!

Mr. and Mr. Scrimgeour are both still in the hospital; I cannot go into their states, of course, but several have brought up the suggestion that we take care of them while they are still here. Flowers and the like. We have more than enough funds to take care of the flowers, so I am looking for volunteers to work on that. Surely not needed daily, but every few days to give some cheer. Food will come later once they are up for it and I'll make a call for volunteers then as well.

Also, while they aren't DMLE, I think that it would be good to send flowers to the Fenwick family once the memorial is announced. This is something that I can handle personally, but I wanted to let all know ahead of time.

And... I believe that is it. Thank you for all that you do!

Forgive me for being terribly sappy, but I'm having a moment and you'll have to deal with it. I love you very much.

I meant to do this sooner, but I just checked in on Charlotte and wanted to pass on news. She was a bit banged up, but she'll be fine. We're looking to release her tomorrow sometime.

There's much to be said about the general going-ons as of late, but I've never really been one to comment on the state of the world to the public as a whole. It's a habit that I picked up from when I was younger and just was fitting to continue practicing after finding myself involved with and eventually married to an Auror. I have thoughts, I have opinions -- feel free to ask me in private, if you're terribly concerned.

And so, I find myself talking about something completely different: my husband's cat, Princess.

As some of you might recall, Alastor tried to tell me that this cat wasn't actually his when I first met him, despite that he fed her and let the stray into his flat and it eventually came with him when we moved into our house together after we were married. I supposed it was about then that there was no question. Anyway, he spoils this cat beyond what I believe is normal for a cat (don't tell him I said that, of course) and she is fairly well aware what the title of Princess actually entails. In the end, she's a nice cat.

But sometimes, she's terribly frightening. Wave your wand! )

I'm afraid to sleep tonight.

[Warded to Friends of the DMLE]

Good evening! At least, I hope I can call it a good evening -- so much has happened in just a few short hours.

That though it may be, I do have a few quick announcements!

First, a few of us will be doing some shopping tomorrow evening to put together baskets for the various departments of the DMLE. Baked goods, pens, hair bands, cigarettes (as they keep telling me just how much those are appreciated, despite my misgivings), and so on. I believe we have enough hands to do the purchasing, but if you're interested in helping in the assembling, we'll be gathered at the Moody residence, probably no later than 6 o'clock in the evening. I'll be providing food for dinner and you're always welcome to bring your children as I still have my stockpile of things to entertain the little ones.

Second, I have been wanting to put together a charity fundraiser of our own of some sort and the support in Mrs. Longbottom's has driven the idea home. I have ideas of my own, but I would love to hear everyone else's! That being said -- I'd like to invite a bit of a free for all, here in the journals. Any ideas that you might have for a charity fundraiser, please shout them out. No idea is too small, although we don't necessarily have to be thinking to the grand scale that some other organizations might be planning with galas. Admirable, yes! But I don't want anyone to feel as though we are in a competition. Also, I wouldn't mind any suggestions on specific charities the money raised could go to. Perhaps the one Mr. Ketteridge mentioned in his journal or the scholarship fund that St. Mungo's has been putting aside for war orphans?

That being said, I'd like to only gather ideas and then we can have a discussion at our next meeting, something that we might very well be overdue on. For said meeting, if you are free next Wednesday evening (2 May) at 6 o'clock, we can meeting at the usual spot -- King's Ballroom on Diagon Alley. As always, please bring a dish to pass and if you cannot find a babysitter, feel free to bring them along! They might not have anything to add to topics of discussion, but I'd love to dote upon them nonetheless. To anyone that might not be able to attend, I'll be sure to take detailed notes of all things discussed and copy them out in the journals to be looked over.

Anyway... I think that just might be it! Do let me know if you have any questions.

Were either of you invited to an Auction Gala that the Purple Hats are putting on?
[/Ward]

[Warded to Alastor]
We were asked to "join the ladies of the Purple Hats in an Auction Gala benefiting those lives touched by the war" and it has our name with very nice and shiny calligraphy handwriting on the front of the envelope, so I'm really rather sure that it was actually meant for us.

Apparently you're a fancier pureblood than I was aware; do you have to divorce me now? I would like to keep the house.

When can we do more wedding things? I'd forgotten how much I loved planning my own wedding.

Also, my birthday is tomorrow. You usually remember anyway, but I'm terribly needy.

[Warded to Henry Hart]
This is your official reminder that my birthday is tomorrow. You can wish me a happy one now.

[Warded to Alastor Moody]
My birthday is tomorrow, on the off chance Ella didn't mention it.

It's so hard to read the newspaper most some days. My sincerest condolences go out to the Connollys and Doges.

[Warded to Róisín Doge]
Really -- if there's anything that I can do, please tell me.

Personally, I've felt that some of PAT has been invading my privacy since I was about four.
